Serenade in C Minor K388
Composer: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Editor: Andrew Skirrow
Catalogue no: CM001 | ISMN M-57034-001-9
Mozart's great C minor wind serenade is presented here in an Original Performing Edition, free from the ravages of 19th century editors. Prepared from the composer's manuscript, the score has been annotated with minor editing marks (clearly distinguished from the composer's own) to aid performance, but is otherwise exactly as Mozart wrote it. Score and parts.
2 Oboes, 2 Clarinets, 2 Horns, 2 Bassoons
Andrew Skirrow has returned to Mozart's manuscript to prepare a clean version of the Serenade in C minor K388, showing clearly which are his few editorial additions, and with a helpful preface mentioning staccato dots and slashes. Not a crescendo or a hairpin in sight - most refreshing to be able to think things out anew from the authentic copy. Excellently crisp score and parts.
